Wedding Workshop – A couple in love

by Lisa | May 16, 2011 | black and white, engagement, london, Photographers, photography, UK

A few weeks back I met up with a bunch of photographers to take part in a wedding seminar/workshop run by Emily Quinton. We were all there to learn about the business and Emily was very open and honest. No subject was out of bounds and while we talked about...

Featured – Rock n’ Roll Bride and The Photography Parlour

I have mentioned The Photography Parlour a couple of times on this blog and I have nothing but positive things to say about the site. Rather than allowing the photography industry to become secular and competitive in a negative way, the site brings together...

There’s something so special about the moment you leave your wedding ceremony as newlyweds.
The nerves have settled, you’ve shared your personal vows, you witnessed your friends sing one of your favourite songs, the rings exchanged, and suddenly, everything feels a little different. You are no longer walking into the unknown of what this day will bring; you’re walking out together, married, hand in hand, ready for everything that comes next.
I love the symbolism of a wedding exit. Stepping through those old doors, leaving behind the anticipation and emotion of the ceremony, and heading out into the light together. The beginning of your next chapter, just the two of you, with the world waiting beyond.
And while everyone else might be thinking about confetti, cheers and that first celebratory drink, I’m always looking for those quieter in-between moments. The way you naturally lean into one another, the gentle touch, the way the light catches a veil, or the simple realisation that you’ve just married your favourite person.
Because your wedding day isn’t just about the big moments. It’s about how they feel. And sometimes, one of the most meaningful photographs is the one that captures you walking away from your ceremony and into your forever.

There’s something rather wonderful about a small wedding.
Fewer people, more time to really _be_ with the people you love. Long hugs, happy tears, champagne glasses clinking, and the kind of laughter that makes your cheeks ache.
The freedom to do things your own way, to slow down, to soak it all in, and to create a day that feels less like a performance and more like a little window into your world together.
And the flowers, the beautiful details, the fleeting moments in between… they all seem to mean just that little bit more when you have the space to notice them.
Because really, it’s never about how many people are in the room. It’s about who’s in it, and how it _feels_ to have them there.
A little wedding, with a whole lot of love. And honestly, what could be lovelier? ✨

Organ Factory Wedding There’s something about th Organ Factory Wedding
There’s something about these quiet moments on a wedding day that I’ll always come back to. The moments in between everything else, when the room falls quiet for a little while and it’s just the two of you, taking it all in.
A hand resting on a knee, a little lean towards one another, the kind of closeness that doesn’t need to be directed or explained. Just the two of you, exactly as you are.
I think these are often the photographs that end up meaning the most. Not because anything extraordinary is happening, but because everything is. A whole new chapter beginning, and a little moment of calm in the middle of it all.
The loveliest things are so often the ones that happen without us even realising.

And those are the moments I want to remember.
The joys of a London pub wedding. A little bit o The joys of a London pub wedding.
A little bit of chaos, a lot of heart, and absolutely no need for everything to be perfect.
The clinking of glasses, the hum of conversation, the smell of the pub, the squeeze of a hug that lasts just a little longer than usual. The laughter spilling out onto the pavement, the music, the happy tears, the people you love most all gathered in one place.
These are the moments I want you to remember. Not just how it looked, but how it felt.
The beautifully imperfect bits. The moments you didn’t plan. The things you might not even notice happening until you look back at your photographs years from now.
Because your wedding photographs should do more than show you what happened. They should take you right back there. To the sounds, the smells, the warmth, the butterflies, the belly laughs and all that lovely, messy, wonderful love.
A little reminder that the magic was never in getting everything just right. It was in being there, together, living every bit of it.
And honestly? That’s what London pub weddings do so beautifully.
