One of my favourite parts of a photographing a wedding is the time I get with my couples during the wedding portraits.  Most of the time my couples plan a kick ass party for all their family and friends and so when they step into their reception, they are awash with all the love and excitement and sometimes that means my couples don’t get to spend that much time with each other during the day.  The wedding portraits are a time for the couple to get some time alone and take in the significance of the day. To laugh, to giggle to hug and just be with each other.

These are a few wedding portraits are from Debbie and Jon’s wedding day on Saturday.  These are just a little sequence of portraits I took while we stole a few minutes away from their guests.  These two kept me smiling during this little session. They just embraced each other and let it all sink in. 

When I got home and downloaded all my cards, I saw this sequence and couldn’t wait to edit them.  I am so lucky that my couples are open and honest with each other and me. It makes my job of capturing them and their relationship so much fun. I feel honoured that I get let into their lives and get to document something so special.  I urge all my couples to take some time out on their wedding day to take in all in.  It is so important to stand back and look at what you have created, all the people you brought together, that are there to celebrate with you.
