Creative Wedding Portraits

While I love photographing the whole day at a wedding, there are certain parts of the day which get me really excited and the portraits are one part of the day that I LOVE.

And it’s all down to a couple getting to spend some time together. The first five minutes of a portrait shoot with a couple, is normally the first time a couple has had any time alone since they exchanged rings. It is their first opportunity to chat, to talk about their mornings apart, to talk excitedly about the ceremony and just hold each other tight.

In that moment I stand back, give them space, give them the chance to talk and get out all that nervous energy.

They get to relax, find their feet and just enjoy a quiet moment together. They can kiss and cuddle, hold hands, do whatever they want to do with out the concern of entertaining their guests, who I can guarantee are enjoying themselves, getting stuck into the prosecco and canapes.

It’s a chance to let it all sink in, to realise that all the planning has come together. That they are surrounded by their friends and family, that they have the support of everyone that is there to celebrate.
