I love everything about this Stoke Newington Town Hall wedding.

From Khaly’s vintage dress to her beautiful wild bouquet, this wedding was nothing short of being personal.

I met the boys at the pub and as always it was a rush of ties and button holes and the need for a pint or two. It’s always a little frantic with the boys, they are never quite sure what they are meant to be doing and someone always plays a joke that they don’t have the rings. With a little prompting, we headed over to Stoke Newington Town Hall, and we all eagerly awaited Khaly.

Stoke Newington Town Hall is just a beautiful backdrop for a ceremony. Everyone loves the space it’s just lovely to photograph. There were tears and laughter during the ceremony, a little bit of Neil Young (a personal favourite) and a huge cheer when they were pronouced husband and wife.

After a couple of photos outside the town hall we headed to The Roost in Hackney. I have to say, it is a favourite of mine and Khaly and Martin love the space.

‘Details and personality are important to us, so The Roost was the perfect place – it’s normally used as a photography studio with each room having its own quirks, lots of eclectic wallpaper, furniture and props everywhere.‘

A delicious afternoon tea was served, sandwiches, scotch eggs and cakes flowed while everyone relaxed. The speeches began and it was 50 minutes of tears and laughter. Khaly’s dad outdid himself and shared a few stories that both Khaly and her brother had no idea about.  Their reactions were priceless and he even managed to embarrass his wife.   it has to be said, even I was a littel shocked by his stories. I don’t think I have ever seen such reactions in all my years of shooting weddings and it’s moments like this that make me fall in love with weddings time and time again.
